We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly skilled Registered Nurse – In-House Complex Care Trainer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing training and mentorship to both Health Care Assistants (HCAs) and Registered Nurses (RNs) involved in clinical complex care within the community setting. The ideal candidate will have experience in complex care and a strong desire to help others enhance their clinical skills through dynamic, hands-on in person and online training.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and deliver tailored training programs for Health Care Assistants and Registered Nurses working in the complex care environment.

  • Provide both theoretical and practical training, covering a wide range of complex care procedures and clinical skills.

  • Conduct assessments to evaluate the clinical competency of learners, providing constructive feedback and recommendations for improvement.

  • Stay up to date with the latest healthcare regulations, techniques, and best practices to ensure all training programs reflect current standards.

  • Support and guide the clinical staff in managing complex care needs, ensuring that they deliver safe, high-quality care to patients in the community.

  • Facilitate a supportive learning environment to foster professional development and ensure continuous improvement in patient care.

  • Monitor and track the progress of training and competency development for all trainees.

  • Collaborate with senior clinical staff to identify areas for development and create training initiatives based on staff needs.

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid NMC pin.

  • Proven experience in complex care (including experience with ventilation, tracheostomy care, and other high-dependency care requirements).

  • Prior experience in delivering clinical training to Health Care Assistants and Registered Nurses in a clinical or community setting.

  • Strong knowledge of clinical procedures, protocols, and best practices in the complex care field.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to teach and inspire others.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to create training schedules, resources, and assessments.

  • A passion for teaching and developing others within the healthcare industry.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in adult education or an equivalent teaching qualification (e.g., PTLLS, CTLLS).

  • Knowledge of current regulatory standards in healthcare, including CQC guidelines and health and safety protocols.

  • Experience working in the community care setting is a distinct advantage.
